I agree that we need to fight the cultural bent toward a consumer mentality and be bent toward a cultivator mentality. This doesn’t mean to refrain from buying anything and living “off the land,” but it requires us to think about what we buy, why we buy it, what we support with our purchase, and so on…
We should be consumers of what is good, if we are about the business of giving God the glory for what is good. But we should also be about the cultivation of what is good, so that we produce fruit that points to the goodness of our God.
