The Limner Society invites you to participate in the publication of:
Intersection of Art and Faith: Devotional Guide for Artists of Christian Faith
(working title)
The vision for this is to have a book of devotional essays and Bible study guides directed at artists of Christian faith. We would like this book to encourage artists to think more about the places where their faith intersects with their art. Further, to inspire them to seek the filling of the Holy Spirit and the development of their gifts to the glory of God. Our hope is to include 31 concise submissions (number of days in a month) in order for an artist to use it as a function of his or her personal daily Bible study.

Submission Guidelines:
Please have your submissions focus on how art meets faith.
Please limit the entries to ideas that reflect strict adherence to Scripture. You may venture into personal stories, but please have Scripture supporting your thoughts.
Please restrict Arts focus to the Visual Arts.
Please limit your entries to no more than 3,000 words.
Please include a small bio statement (250 words or less) and an image of yourself.
Feel free to include images of artwork,
whether your own work or work you would like to reflect upon.
Please supply written permission (in letter) to publish said images and text.

You may wish to base your submission on a work of art, an artist’s quote, an art theory, a biblical scripture, or anything else. Think of how you can provide variety to this book through your understanding of how this vision can be fleshed out.
Please email entries by April 1, 2009, in Word document or pdf and images as jpeg, to entry@limnersociety.com. Not all submissions will be published, but only those that are selected by the appointed jury. Compensation for the entries will be given in published copies. Numbers of copies per entry will be negotiated with individual participants.
