Jason
is a PhD student in linguistics at Arizona State University. He
is in Thailand this year studying literacy and ethnic identity in
a minority group in northern Thailand. Raising two artists (Jonas
4 and Liya 2) is a creative outlet that allows him to practice art
on a daily basis.
Our hope for justice is found in Jesus alone. He is able to take
the cup of God’s fury from our hands (Isaiah 52). While reflecting
on this year’s theme, I looked at time as an important element.
Everything will be accomplished in God’s time. As I see injustice,
I should not weary God by asking, “Where is the God of justice?”
(Malachi 2). But I must remember that God hears me from his sanctuary;
my cry reaches his ears (Psalm 18). My hope for justice both now
and in the future comes from Jesus and this hope gives me peace.
