Stefan
Eicher
was born August 15, 1971, in Washim, India. Growing up in Bombay,
he attended Woodstock School in the Himalayan foothills during his
high school years. Taylor University in Indiana, USA, followed with
a BA and a double-major in Art and Physics. Volunteering with Food
for the Hungry International, Stefan then spent two years working
for a community health project out of a rural hospital in southwestern
Uganda. An MBA later, Stefan returned to India, the land of his
citizenship, and has been doing consulting for NGOs ever since.
After eight years of slumber, Stefan’s art vocation was revived
with the founding of the Limner Society. Since then he has helped
start the 'Art for Change Foundation' which runs the Reflection
Art Gallery & Studios at 40A Shahpur Jat, New Delhi, a space
dedicated to the creation and presentation of art affirming life
and human dignity, as well as the annual Creative Conscience workshop
where a group of artists meet to wrestle with and paint about social
issues facing Indian society.
